The Shuanglong Cave is the core attraction in the center of the Shuanglong Scenic Zone. The cave formed more than 100 million years ago. The cave entrance is flanked on either side by stalagmites that look exactly like dragon heads, thus the name of the Double-Dragon cave. The cave is composed of two parts, separated by a large stone screen. The outer cave is spacious with the bottom flat and the roof like a flat ceiling. At 500 meter above sea level, the 1200-square-meter cave can house more than 1000 people. The walls in the cave are fine-grained, as smooth as human flesh. Inside the cave, a bubbling stream is clear and the temperature is constantly at 15℃. The stream flows from the inner cave to the outer cave and then finds its way out of the cave before it empties into a mountain lake. The limpid river never dries up. In the summer, tourists, after a scorching trek up the mountain to the cave, would feel cool immediately once they enter the cave. That’s why the cave is compared favorably with the Taihu Lake and the best three streams in China.
